Overview
Mr. Hernández-Freire joined Delgado & Fernández, LLC in 2018 as an Associate in the Litigation Department. He represents clients in commercial, securities, and torts litigation, in both state and federal courts, and works in commercial lending for one of Puerto Rico’s largest banks. Mr. Hernández-Freire also actively drafts legislation to be introduced by petition and has ample experience in internal investigations and information management, especially related to fraud and abuse in financial institutions.
As a law student, Mr. Hernández-Freire worked as a law clerk to the Secretary of the Puerto Rico Senate, where he acquired experience in all aspects of the legislative process, including drafting, amending, and revising legislation. He later worked as a Legislative Assistant in the Corporate Practice Group of a large law firm, where he gained experience in lobbying, as well as corporate, constitutional, and administrative law.
Prior to joining Delgado & Fernández, LLC, Mr. Hernández-Freire represented both unions and employers in labor-related matters and disputes, counseled clients on corporate and regulatory matters, managed eDiscovery procedures with clients’ voluminous databases, and practiced litigation on tort and commercial claims.
Mr. Hernández-Freire is also a Notary Public.
