Overview


María Fernández-Bernal is an attorney whose practice focuses on corporate and commercial law. She advises clients on a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and real estate and commercial transactions. As the Head of the Firm’s Corporate Practice Group, María is committed to providing practical, business-oriented legal advice that helps clients achieve their strategic objectives.

Before joining Delgado & Fernández, María practiced for seven years in the corporate department of one of Puerto Rico’s leading law firms, where she represented clients across a wide range of industries in complex corporate and transactional matters. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a Public Policy Analyst for the Senate of Puerto Rico and later as Deputy Advisor in the Office of the Governor of Puerto Rico.

During law school, she completed a judicial internship with the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, served as a research assistant for the Academia Puertorriqueña de Legislación y Jurisprudencia, and was Executive Content Editor of the University of Puerto Rico Business Law Journal (Vol. X).
